Nestled in the heart of Whitby lies the beautiful Whitby Bookshop. Full with literary treasures and quirky gifts its definitely worth a visit if you are ever near. When I visited back in March it was a surprisingly sunny, yet extremely chilly day and so I was on the hunt for books I could curl up next to the fire with. I was greeted with an excellent 'new in' section which had many of the books I'd jealously seen gracing various Instagram accounts recently, as well as many classics and books for more eclectic tastes. The staff were incredibly friendly and only happy to offer recommendations. In the end I left with several of the new Faber & Faber short stories (which I am obsessed with!) and the beautiful new Virago edition of Janet Frame's Faces in the Water. I was also extremely happy to find they stocked Slightly Foxed magazine which I also immediately purchased. If you buy one book: With its setting just under the abbey, it would be a shame not to pick up one of the many beautiful editions of Dracula Whitby Bookshop have to offer. What could be better than tracking Dracula through his many local haunts before settling down in a cosy cottage and following him on his next escapade. Details
